NORTH & ATACAMA DESERT

It can be divided in 2 natural zones and in both the landscapes are spectacular, with hills and mountains of all sizes and shapes, with unique colors and where the sky melts together in an endless line towards a horizon colored in amazing tones.
·NORTE GRANDE (Big North, Far North, Great North)
Extends from the peruvian border to Copiapó river, and it contains the Atacama Desert being an area extremely arid. Its biggest cities are Arica, Iquique and Antofagasta. The most famous places in this area are Putre´s surrounds, Lauca National Park, Las Vicuñas, Natural Reserve, Isluga Volcano National Park and San Pedro de Atacama.
·NORTE CHICO (Small North, Near North, Little North)
Extends from the South of the Copiapó river to the Aconcagua Valley and was home of the Diaguita people. It is an area with some mountainous areas forming valleys of great beauty and fertility. The most famous places in this area are La Serena, and the Elqui Valley.
