Chile’s cosmopolitan capital, Santiago, lies at the foot of the Andes and has a historic city centre as well as impressive modern districts. Wherever you are in Santiago, the snow-capped Andes soar above you and spectacular sunsets turn the snow pink before revealing the lights of the ski resorts.
